Provided strategic and cross-functional leadership, directing and overseeing the planning and implementation of IT systems in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service qualities and business developments to maximize IT contribution towards the fulfillment of hospital’s mission. Crafted long-term IT strategic plan covering1993-2000, 2002-2005, and 2006-2010, implementing emerging and mission critical technology projects in support of the hospital achieving: HIMSS Stage 6 in 2012, Digital Excellence Award from Ministry of Communications in 2011, and ISO 27001 Certification for Information Technology Security. Introduced the Business Intelligent technologies through the implementation of Data Warehouse project. Co-authored the “Developing a Data Warehouse for the Healthcare Enterprise – Lessons from the Trenches” based on practical implementation experiences of Data Warehouse, first edition of which won “Book of the Year” award. The 2nd edition of the Book was released during the HIMSS Conference in New Orleans, March, 2013. Executive sponsor of implementation of Integrated Clinical Information System for the hospital, and chaired both the selection committee and executive committee to oversee implementation. Spearheaded the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the hospital, which was recognized by ORACLE as the largest ERP implementation in healthcare, outside of USA. Vision out and directed the creation of a state-of-art IT infrastructure for the hospital utilizing cloud computing, virtualization, unified communication and Web technologies. Transformed the IT services of KFSH&RC’s Jeddah branch to amalgamate with KFSH&RC Riyadh, unifying systems and processes along with corporate culture transformation. Amalgamated the communication services into IT functions. Introduced mobile phones replacing pagers to integrate communication services with latest Information Technology.
