Staying updated is undeniably advantageous. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, a field I found deeply fulfilling despite occasional societal undervaluation. Recently, I earned my Master's degree in Behavioral Health/Psychology.Before returning to academia, I held various roles in the retail sector, accumulating over twenty years of experience. During my time in retail, I learned valuable lessons in effective people management, observing both successful strategies and common pitfalls. Recognizing the importance of mental health and wellness is crucial, whether at home or in a professional setting. Additionally, I've held managerial positions, led teams, and conducted personnel training.Presently, I'm serving as a substitute teacher at a high school in my local community. The school district I'm involved with holds Title One status, presenting a range of often overlooked challenges. Establishing meaningful connections with my students is key to fostering their positive growth. Through my academic pursuits, I've refined my ability to spot signals requiring intervention and beyond. I've had the honor of guiding numerous students toward valuable resources, both within and outside our school environment.On a personal note, I've been married for almost 27 years. Together, we've raised two amazing kids who've grown into successful humans. Now that they're grown, we're entering a new phase of parenting. My children aren't just family; they're also my closest friend. I'm excited about the adventures ahead and couldn't be prouder of them.
