Co-op position at the AAFC, in the Grain Quality Laboratory(GQL). I worked on the characterization of genetic lines of oats and wheat by analyzing their grain quality traits.• Performing oat samples handling (subsampling, dehulling, milling andsorting....)• Processing oat samples for measuring content of Beta Glucan, oil andprotein with NIRS (Near infrared Spectroscopy) technique.

• Analysis and measurement of pollen concentrations in the air• Knowledge of the optical microscopy (phase contrast and polarization lighting) for the identification of pollen and fungal spores.•Identification of the wide variety of airborne spore and pollen types and differentiate them from other biological/non-biological particles.• Calibration and maintenance of the different types of samplers (in particular therotation impaction samplers)• Knowledge of the pollination seasons of trees / shrubs, grasses and weeds andtheir allergenic properties

• Sampling from the arboretum plants• Nematode extractions and bating using different methods (such as the Baermann funnel technique)• Process nematodes for morphological and molecular analysis• Morphological identification of the nematodes by the dissecting microscope
