The principal responsibilities of the Power Forecaster are to:• Prepare the electricity demand forecast:- Prepare the ADWEC Electricity Demand Model using the bottom-up approach, supplemented by statistical and other modelling techniques.- Liaise with major developers to ensure that their projects are correctly included in the ADWEC Electricity Demand Model and its forecasts.- Analyze historical records of electricity demand data throughout the regions of the Emirate of Abu… Show more The principal responsibilities of the Power Forecaster are to:• Prepare the electricity demand forecast:- Prepare the ADWEC Electricity Demand Model using the bottom-up approach, supplemented by statistical and other modelling techniques.- Liaise with major developers to ensure that their projects are correctly included in the ADWEC Electricity Demand Model and its forecasts.- Analyze historical records of electricity demand data throughout the regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.- Conduct market research of new developments affecting electricity demand through data collection from government departments/site visits for population, housing development, agriculture, industries and etc to forecast electricity demand generation activities.- Analyze and verify data and where necessary conduct further investigations.- Prepare the annual electricity demand forecast report / presentation.- Compare electricity demand forecasts prepared by others with those prepared by ADWEC. • Ensure that all goals, objectives and tasks set by the Senior Power Forecaster are achieved in a timely manner.• Liaise with the ADWEA New Projects Coordinator to ensure that all new project information is available to ADWEC. Provide the ADWEA New Projects Coordinator with ADWEC’s comments on the project information, particularly on electricity demand, submitted by developers and their representatives (e.g. consultants etc).• Conduct demand side management studies to analyze peaks and lows of demand to improve demand profiles by balancing peaks and troughs. Recommend electricity demand conservation options.• Participate in the annual preparation and review of ADWEC’s Statement of Future Capacity Requirements.• Participate in the annual preparation and review of the ADWEC Statistical Report, Statistical Brochure and other publications.• Update skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis. Advise Finance & administration Dept. if the errors exceed 2%.* Assist the procurement & contract dept. with the preparation of the BST by providing them with the statistical data.* Prepare the statistical studies peak demand and production.* Conduct plausibility analysis on data to verify its integrity* Participate in data analysis, studies and prepare reports as directed. * Liaise with ADWEA group and outside agencies as required. * Provide data to external agencies outside ADWEA group of companies.* Recommend improvements to statistical analysis and report generating process.
