Hamida is the founder and executive director of Madad; a US-based non-profit focused on developing low-cost avalanche early warning systems for the mountainous regions of South and Central Asia. She is responsible for creating customized, innovative solutions, raising seed funding, and conducting testing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan. Madad's early warning system project also won Harvard's Ingenuity award in May 2022 under the "Social Impact" category. Currently, she is the Sustainability and Climate Change lead for the Property Management Portfolio (PMP) for the Aga Khan Council. She is leading a community-wide initiative to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030. The plan includes efforts to adopt renewable energy solutions, promote water conservation, encourage efficient recycling, and the usage of sustainable products in all properties. In addition, the project includes a program to create awareness for all stakeholders to be environmentally conscious and responsible.Prior to this position, Hamida worked as a learning and development expert with comprehensive global experience in instructional design, curriculum development, eLearning, project and program management, training facilitation, and learning management systems. She successfully developed web-based, instructor-led, and blended learning solutions for corporate partners. Hamida is adept at addressing topics ranging from pre-sales, sales, customer service, and support to global audiences in a fast-paced and changing environment. She leverages her strong communication skills and collaborates with teams, and consults with partners, stakeholders, vendor development teams, and subject matter experts. In addition, she has a proven ability to meet deadlines and objectives consistently.Hamida has a bachelor's in Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy of Religion, a Master's in Sustainability, and a graduate certificate in "Sustainable Cities and Communities" and "Environmental Policies and International Development" from Harvard. She feels passionate about improving the quality of life of people affected by climate change.
