The General Coordination of the Switchover from Analogue to Digital Audiovisual is created by Presidential decree No. 1070/PR/PM/MC/2014 of 12/09/2014. It is an administrative and technical institution with financial autonomy. Its mission is to steer the process of migration from analogue audiovisual to digital, to regularly monitor and coordinate the implementation of guidelines, to establish the plan for the transition to digital television and radio, to develop the legal framework for the transition from analogue audiovisual to digital audiovisual, to work out the development strategy for audiovisual program content, to carry out transversal activities and to formulate proposals.
