Design Engineer
Current• Design comprehensive solar PV systems for residential projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards such as AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS 5033 (Installation of PV Arrays), and AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 (Grid Connection of Energy Systems via Inverters).• Conduct detailed site assessments, including shading analysis, system sizing, and orientation studies to maximize energy yield and ensure optimal system performance.• Design electrical systems including solar inverters, electrical distribution, and monitoring systems, ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure while adhering to safety and performance standards.• Produce detailed design documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and installation guides to support installation teams and ensure smooth project execution.• Utilize software tools such as Open Solar, Pylon Observer, Helioscope, and PVSyst for detailed performance modeling, energy yield predictions, and financial analysis to support project feasibility and optimize design outcomes.• Ensure all designs meet Australian standards and guidelines, conducting quality checks and coordinating with installation teams to resolve any issues during construction.• Work closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, contractors, and other engineers to ensure effective communication, coordination, and project success.
