My role was to elevate the perception of the Innovation Unit, shifting it from being viewed primarily as a technological unit to being recognized as a key contributor to the organization through its expertise in innovation processes. I focused on increasing its involvement in strategic projects and enhancing its visibility within the organization.I used these three levers to make it happen: leading by example, promoting open innovation, and organizing conferences and trainings.Leading by exemple: During my job interview, I arrived at the airport with an idea, a pitch and an innovation approach. A few months later, the idea was tested, refined, and implemented at the airport, and I was presenting it at international conferences, showcasing the innovation approach that made it a reality. Led various innovative projects that resulted in an 18% increase in passenger satisfaction ratings and the introduction of two new channels for passenger engagement.Subsequently, the innovation approach was applied to many projects across 4 different departments of the organization, where I served as the Innovation Coach.Promoting open innovation: I organized multiple innovation workshops, some with over 50 participants in the room. I brought together people from different companies, including competitors who had never been in the same room before. The workshops were highly productive, leading to impactful ideas. Organizing conferences and trainings : Developed an extensive network of innovators both within my industry and across other sectors, at both international and local levels. Subsequently, I advanced to the role of Project Manager at Sopra Steria, where I noticed significant disparities between projects. Why were some projects highly successful while others were less so? How could success be ensured despite the challenges posed by the human factor? This led me to discover agile methodology. I joined the emerging Agile community in Geneva, became trained and certified, and began applying Agile principles while also training teams and clients.Alongside my job, I started participating in hackathons and startup weekends, which introduced me to Lean Startup, Strategyzer, and the Business Model Canvas through hands-on experience.I also began coursework in Business Development & Entrepreneurship at the University of Geneva. As an avid fan of Dr. Muhammad Yunus after reading his book Banker to the Poor in 2001, I was inspired to join an NGO and change the world! I worked in the public health sector, developing systems to make quality health information accessible to everyone, everywhere. I also contributed to the stop-tabac.ch platform, helping people overcome tobacco addiction, and developed a blog generation platform for the community.One of my achievements was successfully implementing a challenging complaint-handling system within a short timeframe. This accomplishment was a key factor in the NGO’s accreditation by the French National Authority for Health.It was also at this NGO that I discovered by myself the elegance of Unified Modeling Language (UML). I trained myself by reading books and then went on to train the team and clients, who were primarily medical doctors.
