As part of the development program, extensively evaluated microgrid markets around the world and the existence of innovative technologies and concepts to address this emerging technical problem.

Led the Finance, Strategy, Commercial, Technology and Customer Services functions of Horizon Power during its emergence as a leading regional power company globally. Executive responsibility for defining and delivering projects of enormous significance for Horizon Power and the competitiveness of regional Western Australia, including: system blueprint / microgrid economic modelling; electricity tariff reform; high penetration distributed energy resources (principally rooftop solar); advanced metering infrastructure (AMI); as well as the companies flagship DER projects in Carnarvon and Onslow. Developed Horizon Power's microgrid strategy which has seen it emerge as a recognised global leader in this emerging market. The strategy centres around promoting and supporting the integration of high amounts of distributed renewable energy into Horizon Power's microgrids - which are among the most isolated in the world. Delivered projects that evaluated enhanced collaboration across multiple Australian states and territories and also for leading the organisation's commercial function; responsible for the highest value projects and initiatives within the organisation.

Executive accountability for the corporation's Finance, Strategy, Human Resources, Procurement, Safety, Legal and Risk functions. As part of delivering value to the state shareholder, successfully delivered a strategic review that reduced operating subsidies paid by the State Government by $100m per annum; radically transforming the organisation into an exemplar for efficient state-owned organisations.

Built shareholder value in listed mining company Bass Metals as it transitioned from an explorer to a producer by delivering robust financial control; managing debt raising; global commodity marketing; derivative trading; and ASX compliance. Led system and technology integration to support the operational development of the business.

Supported shareholders to receive full value from their divestment of Gull Petroleum by leading the financial function of the $1 billion pa revenue business prior to its acquisition by Archer Capital in 2010.

Founder of fin-tech startup Carbon Account that was exploring models for monetising an emerging market for carbon pricing and trading at an individual level.

Director and CFO of Alinta Energy following the creation of the Alinta AGL joint venture. Responsible for the financial management of the ~$2 billion national energy leader; including financial close of over $1 billion worth of power station developments. As part of the senior leadership team, participated in strategy development, commercial management and growth. Lead financial integration through the acquisition of the business by Babcock & Brown Power.

Delivered shareholder value by defining and implementing corporate wide business improvement initiatives. Lead corporate integration of AGL's strategic acquisitions; lead the project to separate the corporate functions for AGL's infrastructure and energy demerger; authored early stage business cases to invest in a wide scale transformation of AGL's retail systems; program managed several high-profile technology deployments.
