I began working for Teton County Planning in April of 2016. My work as principal planner involves complex current and long-range planning tasks for the planning division, which includes implementation of county policies and procedures, coordination with appropriate state and/or federal agencies, environmental reviews, and working with ancillary volunteer boards such as the Natural Resources Technical Advisory Board (NRTAB) and the Upper Snake River Greater Sage-Grouse Local Working Group. I also enjoy overseeing the work of senior and associate planners in the department. Prior to joining the planning department I was a project manager for a Jackson-based environmental consulting firm. I developed a specialty in wildlife habitat quality assessment through a variety of hands on projects. During my tenure in Wyoming I have authored over a dozen management guidance documents on Candidate, Threatened, and Endangered species for the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service, in addition to developing biological analyses for NEPA compliance and consultation with municipal, state, and federal regulators.I have a broad background in wildlife studies, with an emphasis on raptor, prairie grouse, and migratory bird ecology. My studies in ecology and ornithology began while earning a B.A. at Tulane University. I then completed an M.S. in Biology at the University of New Mexico with a concentration in Avian Ecology. Much of my project-related experience was gained over ten years of field studies as a zoologist affiliated with the University of New Mexico and the University of Wyoming.
