Priory is a specialist Recruitment Agency that focused on the Transport Sector with a small amount of Warehouse and Production Line staff. I recruited drivers based on their skills and previous experience to suit the clients needs. I used various avenues including online job websites, adverts placed in local newspapers, and word of mouth to source new staff.I then worked on site at Hovis Breads in Dagenham Docks. I liaised with the transport team to supply the required amounts of drivers per day based on the needs of the needs of the company. We would supply on average 35 to 40 drivers per day split between Class 1 and Class 2 drivers.I also made sure all drivers met the compliance needs of each client and address any issues that may arrive from the day to day running of such a large company.As the Transport Industry is a 24 / 7 operation I worked Sunday to Thursday and was all on call during the week where I would be available any time of the day for both Clients and drivers to contact me.

I was the support person for the Lower North Island New Business Manager and the Relationship Managers in both the Corporate and SME Sectors. Using previous customer service experience and my knowledge of the car industry, I was the assistant for the day-to-day running of both large and small fleets of vehicles. I also created quotes for the New Business Manager and helped organise vehicle purchases.I had a busy role as the point of contact for customers with queries regarding their vehicle fleets. I was responsible for ensuring customer fleet vehicles were compliant with the LTSA regulations, as well as keeping the vehicles serviced. At the same time I was the first line of customer support taking incoming calls from the FleetPartners 0800 number.

In this position I was in charge of the day-to-day running of 40 rubbish trucks. This ranged from the residential rubbish and green waste to commercial trucks throughout the greater Auckland area. These serviced a customer base of 200,000 customers per week.I looked after the logistical side and also the administration of the fleets, dealing with customer issues, driver issues, breakdowns, route maintenance. Key achievementsI learned a huge amount about transport logistics in this role. I also needed to be familiar with council bylaws. Part of my role required the resolution of disputes where I was able to effectively influence satisfactory outcomes.

I was responsible for the collection of accounts and also for the upkeep of client’s current debtor ledgersThis was a challenging role. I learned the ability to turn debtors into clients and how to provide them with the service they required during the hard times faced by many during the recession.
