After completing my research degree into nanotechnology I became a teacher because I loved taking the undergrad classes. I completed my PGCE at York Uni and started my teaching career in Bridlington. At Headlands school I taught across the age and ability range from y7 to 6th form. By 2014 I had been promoted to Director of Science. I then moved to a school closer to home so we could start adoption. I started at Scalby School as their Lead Practitioner in Science and am now very much enjoying my new role as Head of Science. Our Science department is dynamic and innovative and are currently trying to get our heads around remote learning.
