Vancouver based Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. is an established independent comprehensive "fee only" financial planning firm, helping clients accumulate and manage their financial assets since 1972. Our clients include individuals and families, small business owners, and professionals, plus company executives and key employees (under our Corporate Services program). Most of our clients engage us on a long-term basis, which allows us to develop a program and review it often to ensure that it continues to meet the client's needs, goals and changing life circumstances. Regular financial "reviews" help us to ensure that a client's financial plan keeps pace with their needs and world dynamics. Our commitment to being "fee only" (sometimes called fee-for-service) advisors means we accept no commissions and sell no financial products. As Fee Only Financial Planners and Investment Counsel, our revenues are derived solely from fees levied to clients, allowing us to provide unbiased and objective advice.

  Hamish has been at Macdonald, Shymko & Company since 1995. In 2009, he completed the prerequisite courses and successfully passed his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examination. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Associate Certificate of Financial Planning from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). He became a principal of Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. (MSC) in 2014.
