My focus is to provide engineering geological insight to a wide range of end users, develop technically as an engineering geologist and become chartered as a registered engineering geologist (PEngGeol). Areas that interest me include the role of geology in civil engineering projects, geomorphology, geological interpretation, and leadership. I am active in the community through ongoing volunteer service to surf lifeguarding at Whiritoa, Coromandel.I have 6 years consultancy experience (3.5 yrs as engineering geologist) involved in highway, rail, tunnel, land development, hazard assessment and dam related projects. As an engineering geologist I have worked in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia and NZ. Notable projects include site inspections of properties affected by the Nelson floods; geotechnical investigation and interpretation for a hydro scheme in Papua New Guinea and Riyadh Metro Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Through these projects, and others, I have gained experience in geotechnical site investigation, development of geological and geotechnical models, slope stability analysis, subcontractor supervision and project management.
