Hamish Roberts has been playing the guitar since the age of twelve, initially with a love of all things blues, rock and metal. Upon receiving his first teaching job at Yamaha Music School, Inverness at the age of nineteen, he reinvested his wages into classical guitar lessons and discovered a love of all things finger style.In the summer of 2013, Hamish toured Europe with traveling revue “The Medicine Show” culminating in attending WOMEX, the World Music Expo, in Thessaloniki, Greece.Hamish completed his undergraduate degree at the Academy of Music and Sound Glasgow with first class honours and went on to complete a Master’s in traditional music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, learning Clarsach as second study.Between performing and instrumental tuition, Hamish can be found busking around various cities in Scotland. Through street performance, Hamish has met many friends and his music can be found on various media outlets including Celtic Heartbeat on BBC radio Wales, video content on the Guardian website and hit movie Edie.When not tinkering with stringed instruments, Hamish builds computers in his spare time and is an obsessed hill and endurance runner.
