In this role I have expanded on my knowledge that I gained from my previous job at Expro. I carry out various different jobs within the service department, mainly the complete service of the different sampling pressure vessels. This includes disassembling, cleaning, inspection (when necessary), reassembly and pressure testing. I carry out hydrostatic pressure tests up to 22 500Psi, leak tests with nitrogen up to 15 000Psi and I've recently been signed off to do volumetric testing for DOT/TC rated cylinders. My other duties include the servicing and testing of Proserv's downhole sampling tools and Mini-Separators. I recently completed a small bore tubing and pipe bending course and have finished building up my first brand new Mini-Separator. I have had to work with various apprentices, training them on the servicing and testing of the equipment.

With this job I completed my modern apprenticeship with a SVQ level 3 in mechanical maintenance and a HNC in mechanical engineering. My main duties were to carry out the maintenance of oil and gas sampling cylinders, downhole samplers and their accompanying equipment within the workshop by following the appropriate work procedures and risk assessments. This included checking the equipment in when it returned from a job, stripping the cylinders and samplers down before cleaning and inspecting them to ensure they were fit for purpose. I then reassembled them ready for pressure testing. I carried out hydrostatic and oxygen free nitrogen testing up to 15000Psi. Throughout each process the associated paperwork/computer records were completed to a high and accurate standard. My other duties included preparing equipment for going out on a job and completing all the necessary load out paperwork and dangerous goods forms correctly. I was also responsible for showing a number of trainees how to carry out the maintenance work on the sampling equipment. I participated in the on call register.
