Examples of practical technical experience include;Creating a specialist precast design mix which was required for urgent structural work at the Christchurch Airport, after the series of Christchurch earthquakes severely damaged the new domestic terminal expansion. Mix required was to generate extremely high early strength for immediate structural repair.I pioneered a specialty winter mix, an innovative design for extremely cold concreting. This enabled our plant to work when others couldn’t, it also increased margins due to a higher selling price and kept us at the forefront of the market for innovation and meeting client’s needs.As manager of Ashburton Contracting’s ready-mix concrete plant, I also worked closely with our Plant Engineer to design a self-compacting concrete for precast clients.This involved a series of test mixes to establish a mix that had required spread/workability/strength properties and most importantly approp
