I have worked in the music business since the early 80s. I was very lucky to commence my music career in artist management with some brilliant Scottish bands and producers before being drawn to the dance music scene via sales and marketing.My music career swiftly advanced to becoming responsible for signing some of the best dance record labels to sales and marketing and distribution deals. At the same time I also signed a lot of individual dance recording artists to record deals and was involved in the full A&R process from the recording studio, through to final release, whilst overseeing the marketing, the sales, and international licensing.Whilst working with artists and labels, I saw the opportunity to continue working with the same artists and labels by offering publishing deals and song catalog deals via joint venture agreements that I had setup with two of London's key music publishing companies. I am still involved in the music business in the following 2 areas.I founded the music consulting and music publishing company, All Media Songs.I am also the Director of Licensing for AllTrack Performing Rights (the only digital-era PRO designed for independent creators and publishers). I am proud to have had such wonderful opportunities in this magical business we call the music business and I love to help others who care to venture into this business as I would not have made it if it had not been for the invaluable guidance that I gained whilst working for many of the music business greats. I have been afforded many opportunities to pass on my music business knowledge and some recent notable occasions have been when I was invited to talk at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego - "Public Performance Rights for Music: Pay it to Play it?", and also at the San Diego County Bar Association - "Music Law in the Digital Age"Due to my many years of accredited experience, I have been awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Business from North Park University, in Chicago, Illinois.I am a Member of the Recording Academy (The Grammy Awards)
