In December 2017, I assumed the role of Managing Director of NVT Group.In this role I will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of NVT Group, leading the business from the front and making sure that NVT Group succeeds in its overall business objectives.In summary, I will be responsible for:• Planning and implementing the long term strategy of the businesses in conjunction with the board• Providing business expertise, ambition and drive which will facilitate overall business growth and profitability• Providing overall service excellence to our client base and ensuring that customer service is at the forefront of our growth plans• Also ensuring that NVT Group is a technology innovator, with a solutions set which best meets the needs of our customers and prospective customers• Analysing opportunities for market and product development to the overall financial benefit of the business• Managing our continued investment in our people, ensuring that our employees are fully engaged and motivated, have the necessary skills to complete their roles effectively and can actively contribute to our business goals• Reviewing multi-departmental performance against set KPIs and setting up systems for continual improvement

I was promoted to Director of NVT Group in January 2013, where I held commercial responsibility for achieving public and private Sector sales targets for the NVT Group of companies.During this time, I led the tender bid which resulted in NVT Group becoming the Official Technology Services Integrator for the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Within this engagement, the role extended to becoming the programme manager for delivery of services, which involved liaising with technology partners as well as internal and external stakeholders.The experience gained at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games led to our engagement at the Baku 2015 1st European Games, where NVT Group delivered technical governance and event support services.In 2015, we were also successful in being appointed to the Scottish Government's Digital and Technology Services (DATS) framework, the only Scottish headquartered business to be appointed to the framework. Under the DATS framework, we were able to develop our collaborative partnership model and subsequently won contracts with Community Justice Scotland, Fair Start Scotland and the SSSC.In 2017, NVT Group became the Official Networks and Network Integration Services Supporter for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

After completing the first phase of organisational change the Group embarked on further development and, to achieve this, I was appointed Head of Business Solutions, with the following objectives:• Business Development in the Public Sector and Professional Services Sector• Partner / Channel Relationship Management• Bid creation• Client services coordination and project delivery• Marketing activity for brands and solutions• To mentor and develop the existing project management , sales and consulting resources• To create productised solutions• To lead commercial engagements on fully outsourced managed contracts• To lead consulting engagements on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning• Manage outsourcing within TUPE regulations where required• Achieve client business objectives via developing operational ICT improvement programmes

After the merger of Wisdom IT and NVT Computing, for the period between November 2005 and March 2007, I continued in my operations role within the newly formed NVT Group. Additionally I had responsibility at a senior level for the Wisdom IT project and managed the contract integration programme which was focused on achieving standardised operation across the Group within a 12 month period. The change programme was achieved.

Within 18 months of joining Wisdom I was promoted to the role of Operations Director. My principal achievements in this role were:• Developed process driven Project Management Methodology• Introduced formal, process driven methods across commercial and delivery functions• Developed and Mentored Management team• Responsible for owning and developing £3m Managed Contract and Project portfolio • Recruitment of technical and management resources• Establish management reporting on resource utilisation, skills requirements and development plans, individual performances, project and managed contract status.• Contract specification and negotiation• Specialised in delivering consultancy on Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity services and Managed Contract Due Diligence

Joining Wisdom in 2003 as a Service Delivery Manager required strong operations management as well as commercial awareness. My main objectives and successes while in this role were:• Focus on developing and enhancing Wisdom’s principal Managed Contracts.• Project Management• Service Delivery Management, Customer Liaison addressing both business and commercial requirements• Trouble shooting on problem accounts• Third Party relationship management • Escalation Management for Customers, Service Desk, Engineers and Consultants.• Simultaneously manage contracts and projects.• Manage, mentor and lead multi-skilled teams.

Moving to the larger Network team in 1998 was primarily to assist with the operational management issues faced by the team. In early 1998 I took over full management responsibility and worked in this role until organisational change brought about redundancy in January 2003. Key responsibilities were:• Hands on ICT Operational Management• Delivery of ICT Services to all business units• Manage and develop a ‘best of breed’ technology strategy across the Server and Desktop environments• Managing the central helpdesk against SLA’s• Management reporting• Team development• Control of £1.5m capital budget• Third party management• Project ManagementThis role required me to lead a team through a period of large scale business change and maintain delivery standards against an agreed SLA while working within a long term redundancy notice period.

The role required strong process development skills through the adherence to standards and disciplined working practices, high levels of awareness of both the organisational IT infrastructure and business operations, and the ability to develop cross team co-operation and communication flows. The main achievements in this role were:• Improved efficiency via standardisation and automation of processes• Development, implementation and policing of disciplined working practice• Stronger relationships with the other infrastructure teams• Continual Improvement of processes for managing version control on multi-platform applications• Agreeing and delivering against published Service Level Agreements (SLA)
