Responsibilities include those typical to a rig geologist - such as HQ and PQ core logging etc. Also responsible for the assistance of overseeing new graduate geologists on drill rigs, and their associated training. Liaise with regional coordinators with general organization of Moultrie geologist within the BMA framework. Lead training of graduate geologist in core logging and depth correction using micromine GBIS software.

Exploration Rig Geologist (2008 – 2011)My time as an Exploration Rig Geologist for Geological Solutions can be divided into two key areas, working in Coal Exploration and Coal Bed Methane ExplorationRig geologist, BMA (Jan 2011 - Aug 2011):Rig geologist at BMA, mainly based on their northern Wards Well project drilling on a 24/7 basis. I worked primarily on HQ gas and geotechnical holes, and PQ coal-quality holes. The drilling program required detail logging and extensive sampling.Coal Bed Methane – BOW Energy (2010) Site supervisor and Rig Geologist for C.S.G project in Bowen Basin. I was responsible for general site logistics, the implementation and adherence of the HSMS policy, and data acquisition and quality control. The nature of the CBM drill programme and associated rig requirements necessitated extensive logistical coordination and organization across many contractors and stakeholders. The HSMS included leading the daily pre-start toolbox meetings, ensuring the adherence to alcohol breathalyzer testing, correct installation testing and sign off of the Blow Out Preventer (BOP), the authorization of any work permits such as hot work or working at heights, and ensuring the hole remained within the designed parameters. At the end of each shift, the geologist was also responsible for compiling an extensive report of the shift's drilling activities, gas testing results, geological data and photos to be transferred to the headquarters.Coal exploration (2008 to 2009):Projects for Tarong Energy and Bowen Central Coal as a rig geologist for coal exploration. Participated in the planning and preparation of drill sites, such as site selection and cultural heritage clearance. Completed a variety of drilling modes such as 4C, 8C and 10C along with HCML, and geochemistry holes. Worked on correlating holes and seams across the exploration lease for the mining model.
