Developing functional systems and processes while building a team of qualified professionals, I was engaged to create Adani’s environment and sustainability capability for Australia. Reporting to the CEO Australia, I held responsibility for the operating budget and leadership of a 40-person team, including 10 direct reports. I played an instrumental role in securing federal and state government approvals for projects in excess of $20BN, enabled construction and renewables projects and introduced a sustainability strategy in partnership with the University of Queensland. I was also proud to lead the Indigenous Engagement Team in awarding contracts to Indigenous-owned businesses, retain key staff through significant organisational challenges and changes, and support the business’ shift into renewables.

Hired to manage environmental aspects of construction projects and help secure new work as part of an Alliancing project, I created a project planning and risk assessment process that ensure all KPIs were met. Resulting in a perfect record of no environmental prosecutions or fines, as well as an Environmental Performance award, the company achieved an Alliance environmental scorecard above 90% and provided significant returns to all Alliance partners.
