What really impressed me about Hamish was his understanding and passion for the research to be in a live environment, at the same time as being robust and negating any site, content, or creative effects. This was definitely the more difficult route to take (but the right one) and he didn’t shy away from this even though it meant that the project unexpectedly took the best part of a year! He also designed the creative for some of the brands who didn’t have newer formats running and we would have run into real trouble without this! The research won the IAB Europe Effectiveness award in 2011 and was also shortlisted for the AOP research effectiveness award 2011 which speaks volumes for the quality of this study. We’re also still taking this out to the industry now and so it has had real longevity which you don’t always find with research projects.
