Leading and advising on research, evaluation, and development of step change alternative energy recovery processes and improvements to the existing in-situ Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) process as part of the journey to Net Zero with a focus on environmental footprint reduction (GHG, water and land) including:- Providing skilled leadership in all phases of technology maturation including commercial business case development, de-risking activity identification and selection, and field operations. - Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to develop and deliver field trials of novel in-situ extraction techniques (e.g. solvents, electrical heaters); setting clearly defined strategy and objectives.- Led the joint venture collaboration with a large US based technology provider to deliver a novel subsurface recovery process (2017-20).As an Advisor consulting across the Enterprise I have:- Developed and trained adjacent teams on a quantitative (VOI based) technology development methodology leading to significantly improved decision quality for commercial deployment options generation and de-risking activity selection (see SPE paper 210290).- Designed and delivered “Technology Development 201” training to 50+ technology professionals and coached in the application to over 25 technologies.- Worked on a range of surface and subsurface technologies, and energy transition projects (processing, heat recovery, SMNR, CCUS).
