I was a civil litigator admitted in Oregon practicing primarily on the defense side. My practice was concentrated in the areas of commercial litigation and product liability defense. I am available after my retirement as an arbitrator that brings deep experience to the table.Over the years, I represented national, regional and local clients in many types of litigation. I've tried dozens of cases involving the defense of products, as well as real estate, commercial transactions, benefit plans and insurance; I served as co-lead class counsel in a claim by policyholders of the State's worker's compensation carrier, and recovered over $200 million for those businesses; I defended construction product defect litigation for a manufacturer throughout the nation until a nationwide and a single state class action resolved those claims.Specialties: Oregon does not explicitly recognize specialties in the practice of law, and I do and did not hold myself out as a specialist. My practice was concentrated on commercial litigation and products liability defense: My experience defending products involved tires, recreational vehicles, chemicals, drugs, medical devices, lawnmowers, power tools and aerial equipment, among others. In addition to defending products litigation, I provided risk management advice to manufacturers and other businesses.
