I was raised in Upper, MI a.k.a “Yooper Land”. I have a small-town heart with big-city ambition. My love for education brought me to Grand Rapids where I started pursuing my Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity. Let’s be honest, I wasn’t always interested in cybersecurity. My passion originally started at Claire’s. Those who have worked in Retail Management know the constant struggle to maintain network connectivity with POS systems. I was constantly calling the IT helpdesk, helping the district troubleshoot systems, and setting up new technology during store expansions. This is how my curiosity got the best of me.I started researching questions like “How to keep mobile credit cards safe on public networks?” or “How to keep customers digitally safe while shopping?” During mall visits, I began using free apps. to investigate public Wi-Fi data. The information gathered was ASTONISHING! That’s when that “big city” ambition hit me full force. I realized cybersecurity needed more people on the front lines.I may have left retail management after 10+ years but my heart is still passionate about leadership and team development. I have a strong client service orientation with an enthusiastic corporate mindset. My enthusiasm for growth is what keeps my motivation, even during the hardest projects and the toughest deadlines; I can guarantee I will be excited to watch your company grow. Currently, I am an Information Security Analyst at GVSU with a focus on end-point security. I am working on my CEH and Data Analytics Certification.
