Senior Specialist, Financial Reporting And Analysis
CurrentReporting directly to the Vice President, Finance and Planning, my work plays a key role in ensuring fiscal health of WWF-Canada and maintaining integration with its strategic goals, through efficient and accurate reporting, multi-year planning, investment portfolio oversight, and coordinating fundraising for projects and initiatives.My main responsibilities include developing, maintaining and providing financial analysis and in-depth management reporting to help the organization deliver its financial and accountability commitments. I provide monthly and quarterly financial reports, variance analyses and ad-hoc reports to Senior Management Team and Board of Directors.I lead the ‘financial planning’ process by implementing and maintaining workflows and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate reporting. My work enables stakeholders across all departments during the annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecast processes.Also responsible for maintaining data-modelling, financial reporting and budget management software (Vena), I train and support non-finance users on effectively leveraging this software for reporting and planning purposes.Using historical data, trends, indicators and internal checks to highlight and review anomalies and sharp variances, I assist non-finance users to improve accuracy and integrity of their planning inputs used in budgeting and forecasting. Also responsible to track investments and endowments held in WWF-Canada Foundation, I routinely provide analysis of investment income and market value of investment portfolio. As part of my job, I heavily engage with external stakeholders, for tasks including:- assisting auditors during year-end financial audit and providing them supporting documentation- preparing timely and accurate regulatory reporting (e.g. IRS Form 990)- reporting WWF-Canada’s ‘network performance’ to WWF International, and- providing our partners and funders with transparent and detailed funding reports.
