Established the program’s capacity development strategy to institutionalize the technical capacity of government decision-makers and key civil society groups to integrate geospatial information into their decision-making, planning, and communication. Demonstrated high-level knowledge in program focus areas of agriculture and food security, land cover/land use and ecosystems, weather and climate, and water resources and disasters.Conducted baseline studies; designed university action plans to build the capacity of partner universities to use geospatial information and the SERVIR-Mekong decision support tool.Developed an e-learning platform; contribute to the courses in collaboration with regional and global partners to address the need for increased awareness amongst practitioners, policymakers, and researchers on the latest advances in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.Contributed towards the scientific and technological development of a reservoir mapping tool as a resource for modeling the inundation areas of prospective dams on the Irrawaddy, Salween, Mekong, and Red River basins under SERVIR-Mekong’s water resources and disaster theme.

Led the GIS technical team in developing and delivering a range of services and products to advance the GIS capacity of the USAID-sponsored development programs throughout Pakistan. Participated in the development and establishment of common formats for data sharing, data management, and GIS within the project and between EI/MSI and the client. Oversaw the development of a GIS tracking system for use within the program to support project planning, monitoring, and evaluation.Delivered technical support and advice to the client on different GIS-related issues.Provided support and technical direction to field staff to ensure a consistent two-way flow of data.

Demonstrated skillset in teaching, research, and development related to GIS and remote sensing.Devised innovative GIS solutions for natural disaster mitigation, management, and rehabilitation.Supervised the development of theses focusing on geoinfographics, geoportals, and rapid mapping.Secured funding from the International Foundation for Science for the development of a web GIS-based spatial decision system for watershed management. Led the UNESCAP's GeoDRR initiative, including the development of geoportals and crowdsourcing platforms for landlocked countries; the project was part of the Hyogo Framework for Action.Established geoportal and crowdsourcing platforms for countries, which could then host and generate georeferenced data required during the event of a natural disaster; achieved successful deployment in Magnolia, Cooks Island, Fiji, and Kyrgyzstan.Developed the geoportal using open source stack, which provides cataloging, metadata generation (ISO 19139), and basic GIS operation on the web platform.Facilitated GIS- and geoportal-related training in each of the participating countries; contributed to the development of training manuals; prepared data; provided technical assistance to the staff in the participating countries to enhance their GIS-related capabilities. Designed and delivered training on using HEC-RAS for flood modeling in Fiji (Nandi river) and Mongolia (Ulanbataar); coordinated ~20 trainings, conferences, and workshops across 11+ countries.Oversaw the development and deployment of enterprise-level Spatial Data Infrastructure for disaster management agencies in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Fiji, and Cooks Island.Guided the creation of e-learning platforms for dissemination of GIS-related courses on natural disaster mitigation, management, and rehabilitation.Published a research report on geospatial modeling on sustainable urban planning and disasters using geospatial data and socioeconomic data for Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Nandi, Fiji.
