Sequestering carbon as total organic carbon (TOC) in soil is one way to mitigate climate change by reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide. The primary goal of our research is to develop a protocol to rapidly measure total organic carbon (TOC) and classify the organic carbon pools in soil fractions. Soil and water samples are analyzed for organic and inorganic carbon using the PeCOD equipment. In addition to performing these tests, data analysis using Python and online software is carried out in order to deduce a correlation between results.
