Successfully helped the company through a large Digital Transformation effort, and built out our IT and software engineering teams- completing a full EHR migration, Salesforce roll out, and built our custom client-facing online booking and patient portal systems.Hired and built out a team of 50 engineers, IT support staff, and system administrators to support our 2,500 clinicians and hundreds of thousands of clients.Navigated through several CEO changes and helped maintain a strong year over year growth, 2x that of our competition. Also successfully lead the company through some large initiatives that were far outside of the normal responsibilities of a CTO.Acted as our Technical Architect, ensuring that the many, many different Enterprise systems that it requires to run a company that large worked well together and addressed the business' needs. Mostly built as a NextJS / React front end and a Typescript NestJS API backend layer that connected directly to our EMR/EHR system and coordinated many data integrations.

As both lead developer, company founder, and product visionary– we built the world's first low-latency live streaming broadcast service to compete directly with the likes of Twitch. We believe live video is the future of entertainment and opens up so many new interactive possibilities vs the existing competition's legacy software.

Lead a large engineering org between NYC and Ireland, covering areas such as Financial Systems, DevOps, Customer Support Tooling, Consumer Web, Mobile Development (Android and iOS), Warehouse Systems, Inventory Management, Fulfillment Process, and more. Proposed, scouted, and then opened a second international office in Galway, Ireland to help recruit more talent more quickly.Selected Projects:Dropoff Boxes - As a side project, I spent my weekends building a prototype 'return scanner' to trail in the RTR offices. The scanner started as an iPad with a bluetooth-based scanner attached. Corporate employees could scan items and immediately return them. This was such a hit that I proposed making it an official company product. We built special casing and design, and ended up deploying hundreds of these drop off boxes around the country. (See photos)Inventory Storage - As part of dealing with a rapidly scaling business, we needed to figure out a way to store more inventory, more efficiently. I lead a small team to physically test out different methods of clothing storage in the warehouse and ended up developing a unique system that more than doubled the storage capacity of the warehouses.

Wordset is the world's first open data collaborative dictionary. I founded the project along with my husband to help bring the power of language to more people, more equitably. We believe that Machine Learning models are being trained on either proprietary dictionaries or using inferior and often problematic sources.We built a website that allowed users to suggest improvements to definitions, and worked as a fork of the WordNet project. Over the project, we had over 500k contributions and fixed many problematic elements in the initial dictionary.We also built a iOS and Android dictionary application for quickly and efficiently looking up definitions.Unfortunately, the business model was hard to find, so we decided to close the site.Today, the project lives on as an open source tool https://github.com/wordset/wordset-dictionary used by both Machine Learning researchers and educators (including to teach children in the outback of Australia!)

As CTO, I managed a team of 30 engineers and worked with the rest of the Executive team to coordinate our roadmaps and feature releases. We powered sites for brands like Walmart, 1800Flowers, Bloomingdales, The VitaminShoppe, and thousands more.This was a globally distributed mobile-optimizing CDN layer that powered billions of requests a day.Moovweb was aquired by Limelight Networks and rebranded now as Edgio.

I managed a team of 15 engineers and reported to the CEO as part of the Executive team.

Responsible for building the Wikipedia's first mobile iOS and Android applications. Managed a distributed team of 20 employees and volunteers working on building out the product. We launched in over 30 languages and powered hundreds of millions of page views a month. Responsible for both architectural, infrastructure, and product design.

The first employee Unspace ever hired and then later moved up to being an owner of the company and worked with managing client relations and large software projects.
