As a Yard Marshal I specialised in dealing with trailers for my site. I also took on further responsibilities with on-road management, this includes a lot of problem-solving and admin work. My responsibilities at the site included;Docking and releasing HGVs and unloading/loading these trailers.Checking trailers in and out of the systemCreating cases for trailers such as safety issues or raising tickets due to operational needsAnalysing the linehaul for the evening and trying to manage my time accordingly to efficiently take care of my responsibilitiesSequencing parcels to go back out if it has been brought back to the stationSpeaking to our Delivery Associates to understand more about what is going on and dealing with parcels accordingly.Making and utilising spreadsheets on MS Excel to see trending dataCreating and publishing hourly reportsProducing metric reports, analysing data to identify problems and finding root causes for these problems

My role was to help sort out parcels through various parts of the operation to be ready in time for delivery the following morning. This was a very fast pace environment and adaptability and attention to detail were two critical skills to the success of the operation Responsibilities included; Receiving and inducting parcelsPaying attention to the labels and moving on to the appropriate conveyor belt Stowing parcels into the correct bag Moving the bags and oversized parcels to the correct location ready for the delivery drivers Replenishing the bags used and understanding how to use equipment and tools given to do our job successfully Ensuring the environment is safe to work for myself and others

As a study worker, my role was to carry out the research with Covid-19 through monthly testing and surveying participants in the study. This meant I had to communicate and organise appointments with multiple participants. This required a great deal of personal time management and flexibility. Once samples were collected, barcoded and documented, I would deliver to the courier to take to labs on the day so that the samples can be tested intime. Additionally, an incident had risen which involved me stopping a criminal from taking my colleague's car and valuables while staying calm under a high-pressured situation. I was commended by my managers for showing bravery and quick thinking.

The Meat Shop was no easy challenge however, I managed to overcome and conquer this with hard work and dedication.
