Working as a naval architect & technical designer, specialising in pre-contractual design, product development, and sales support for yachts ranging from 55 to 80 metres. A key achievement was successfully leading a team during the design phase for a conversion project, extending an existing yacht by 7 meters. Furthermore, I was chosen by the company to take part in an exclusive Leadership Development Program, which focused on enhancing leadership skills and preparing participants for future management roles.

Pre-contractual design and budgetting of one-off ship projects

I have investigated the process of executing probabilistic damage stability calculations and the efficiency of creating a damage stability booklet for classification's approval. Based on the research results, I've created a new process with template which led to a time decrease of 60%.

Ship motion analysis for the R&D-department. I created an in- and output template to improve inconsistency of a ship motion calculating software. After I created a database to improve the oversight of ship parameters and the calculated motion values. Big data analysis were the next step to find correlations between ship parameters and motions. At last the found correlations were processed to useful graphs which can now help to estimate parameters in an earlier stage.

The purpose of this internship was to learn about the physical build of a yacht. At this yard I have worked on small projects in different departments like casco, paint and interior. This way I have learned how the theory, which is learned in school, meets practice and how all the departments eventually are connected.
