Sept 2023 : We are still in crisis mode. Our priorities have reshuffled. The future is uncertain. “If external ambiguity is the new normal, internal ambiguity is the new enemy.” (Dr. Elsbeth Johnson). In other words, as the world becomes more complex, difficult to understand and predict, there is a greater need for CLARITY in individuals and organizations. I’ve had to deal with ambiguity for most of my life. I was brought up in a traditional Chinese family where women’s power radiated from the kitchen. I went to school in a more modern, liberal and westernised society. After graduation from university, I married my Malay husband, moved to Japan, and experienced a strong, traditional eastern culture. I learned to ADAPT and TRANSFORM - from being• a wall flower to finding my voice and shining my light; • a stay at home mum to becoming an entrepreneur and leader. Through ambiguous and chaotic growth, I learned to have a CLEAR FOCUS and PURPOSE. This has helped me to navigate the stresses and the second guessing to overcome the fear to UNITE OTHERS behind a SHARED PURPOSE and enjoying SHARED SUCCESS together. In this VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world of the future, beyond CLARITY of PURPOSE we must also have THE RIGHT VALUES, strong LEADERSHIP TRAITS, OPEN MINDEDNESS and ACCEPTANCE of OTHERS. Over the years, through my company Rema Synergy PLT and our team of coaches and trainers, we have conducted workshops and courses with one underlying theme : TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES.
