Lead and execute property and easement stewardship activities and responsibilities of 17 preserves and 61 conservation easements totaling more than 3,000 acres. Develop and implement long-term management plans for all RRCT properties. Manage and direct all volunteer activity associated with property stewardship, including leading weekly 2-hour Trail Crew work sessions. Utilize ArcGIS Pro to create maps of RRCT properties and conservation easements. Support RRCT outreach initiatives including electronic newsletter and social media content generation and distribution, and constituent engagement events.

Navigated fast-paced, deadline-driven workflow encompassing sample intake, analysis processes, data management, and reporting. Utilized a Lab Information Management System (LIMS) to track project progress and generate EPA-compliant reports crucial for clients addressing environmental compliance concerns.

Managed desk operations, supervised the wall and bouldering areas, and administered top-rope belay tests and tours of the facility. Ran events for groups of various ages.

Assisted with running the Maine Healthy Beaches Program (MHB), a partnership between Maine DEP and local municipalities/state/national parks, and a statewide effort to monitor water quality and protect public health at over 65 participating coastal beaches. Trained approximately 200 beach managers, local staff, and volunteers to collect water samples. Supported watershed monitoring projects and surveys. Processed water samples for optical brightener and E. coli analysis.

Worked on all aspects of various projects, including intertidal research and site characterization, mudflat sampling, habitat restoration work, invasive species monitoring, dragonfly mercury project, and ocean acidification sampling. Guided and trained groups of 10-15 volunteers in field data collection. Led several 1.5-2 hour public-facing “BioBlitzes” events that focused on finding and identifying species within a certain area and time frame using iNaturalist. Presented a scientific research poster at the 2021 Acadia National Park Science Symposium.

Maintained and monitored the ecological performance of the Living Machine, an ecologically designed wastewater treatment system in the LEED-certified Adams Joseph Lewis Center (AJLC). Sampled water for testing in the lab and oversaw the Ion Chromatography (IC) procedure. Managed the AJLC grounds and organic garden.

Worked in a non-hierarchical student group to reduce Oberlin College’s ecological footprint. Collaborated on initiatives such as the Free Store, Food Rescue, Residential Compost System, and the Johnson House Garden.
