Pickle Research CampusI am currently working on a pulsed high powered LED circuit to be used for schlieren imaging in high speed wind tunnel experiments. I am also doing on Honors Thesis on this project. Previous work is this position includes setting up an actuator system that pulsed jets of air to observe effects on shockwave boundary layer interaction. I experimented with pulse frequency and characterized actuator system. -

Student InternshipLos Alamos National Laboratory May 2015 - Aug 2015I worked with MCNP, a software package for simulating nuclear processes, to model a B-10 neutron detector collecting data on neutron flux emitted from ionizing radiation sources. The goal is to get the detector to be able to identify if any material in a storage vault deviate from their expected radiological activities. I also worked on finding the most effective thickness of borated polyethylene that is to be wrapped around the detector. This shielding will absorb the thermal neutrons coming from background sources and optimize the detector’s measurement of the neutron flux. -
