At University I worked at a local pub in my area, The Hollytree, I was given many responsibilities such as managing and training new bar staff members and hosting and running events at the pub such as pub quizzes and discos. In this position, I learned a lot about communication and customer service. In this leadership role, I strived to communicate instructions and delegate tasks.

I produced the film The Great Vulgarizer, which was our final year short film project. I loved the role, it was rewarding to see the first draft of the script and eventually the final film. In my role, I hired my crew and cast the actors alongside the Director. I raised all the money for the film, I was very influential in the scriptwriting process as well as production design. I took on all responsibility with coordinating and booking locations, travel, budget, call sheets and much more. This role taught me multitudes of skills such as time management, organization, leadership, and responsibility but mostly it affirmed my passion for film and the creative process.

I assisted in the film department at my old school, Tanglin Trust. I presented classes and worked with children individually on their coursework. During this placement, I advanced my technical skills regarding live performance filming as I recorded all of the drama productions and school plays. My organizational skills were also needed as I had to produce timetables, complete booking forms, and complete filming projects for my department in other areas at the school. I was required to use initiative and manage my time carefully to complete everything to a high standard on time.

On my second summer internship, I was granted more responsibility. I took on more creative tasks such as video editing and scriptwriting. I was a lead runner on set and was given the title of production assistant. I greatly enjoyed going back and having more of an impact on the actual production side of the company. I assisted the organization of corporate events and was given responsibility in many areas from organizing a venue to helping with on-the-day coordination of guests.

During my first internship at IDC, International Data Corporation, (a data analytics firm) I was given data-imputing tasks and created spreadsheets. I enjoyed this opportunity which developed my understanding and application of Excel. My organizational skills were a great help to me as I was given a wide range of increasingly complex tasks. At first, I struggled, but succeeded beyond expectations, which led to my supervisor to ask me to return the following summer.
