Haneef founded Design Express Pvt Ltd in 2012 and in the past 12 years the team had worked on numerous projects at Soneva Fushi Resort, Soneva Jani Resort, Soneva Secret Resort, Bandos Maldives, Sheraton Full Moon Resort, Taj Exotica, Taj Coral Reef and completed design and consultancy works for Zonaria Office Building, Villa College South Wing Tower 1 & 2, Villa College Hulhumale School, Maldivian Seaplane Terminal, MNPHI head office in Hulhumale' and Thilafushi Corporation Multipurpose Building among others. In 2018 Haneef founded Spaceworks Pvt Ltd, a construction company based in Maldives with a strong commitment to reliability, quality and efficiency.From 2019 to 2021 Haneef was the Engineering Consultant at Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for designing, reviewing, and establishing standards and a renewed approach for the development of road infrastructure in Maldives with strong focus on environmentally responsible design and construction. Before that Haneef practiced structural engineering at Gedor Consulting Pvt Ltd for 3 years where he was the consultant for design and consultancy of Alia Residence, Amilla Fushi Resort, Chedi Dhapparu Resort, Sealife Global’s SLG Condominium Towers, Cheval Blanc Randheli, Furaveri Resort and Spa, Loama Maamigili Resort, Addu Police Training Centre and Hulhumale’ Police Building among other projects. In the same period, he taught Structural Analysis and Structural Design at the Maldives National University for Diploma in Civil Engineering for the very first batch of any civil engineering program in the country. In 2011 Haneef worked at Amin Construction Pvt Ltd as the Civil Engineer for the construction of Equatorial Convention Center (ECC) in Addu City - largest building in the city and the official venue for 17th SAARC Summit. And in 2012 as Civil Engineer for the construction of STO Radisson Hotel Maldives in Hulhumale’ - largest city hotel in Maldives. Haneef graduated in 2011 with first class honors degree in Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur and in 2016 graduated with distinction in Master of Sustainability at The University of Sydney under Australia Awards Scholarship.
