In my time at Jetset ESL, there were only two full time employees, myself and the founder. I was the only person on the team with technical background, so there was a ton of responsibility on my shoulders and I loved every minute of it. My main responsibility was developing the website, which was built using Ruby on Rails. Accomplishments: - Sole developer and technology decision maker - Successfully launched high-fidelity MVP in two months of development (www.jetsetesl.com). The MVP secured contracts - Went through a 15 week startup accelerator, XLR8UH - Worked closely with the CEO, investors, and advisors on building our product roadmap and managed feature development while maintaining a high quality product

At Spectrum Health I’m on the Enterprise Web Services team. We use a service oriented architecture with SOAP web services that is used by many downstream consumers and internal customers. Most of the service code is written in Java, with some XSLT and SQL.

At Thermo-Fisher Scientific in Ann Arbor, our branch was dedicated to curing cancer through the application of genomic data. We harnessed big data and statistics to classify genetic “hotspots” that could then be studied by researchers and pharmaceutical companies to find possible cures for specific cancer types.

Created software that is used to analyze ultrasound images. The purpose of the software is to be able to define new quality control metrics for ultrasound machines. This was a side job for me, and I was hired by two PhDs that worked at the University of Michigan Medical School.

Worked as a software engineer at PTC, where I worked on large enterprise applications. In my time at PTC I contributed to Windchill, an extremely large Java enterprise application. I created a rich web application for Caterpillar using GWT and Ext-GWT. In addition, I undertook a massive refactoring project which ended up being a success.

This was a paid internship where I worked on software prototypes. The first project I worked on was a car engine noise simulator that could be used in cars with electric or hybrid engines. The second project was a prototype for a multimedia dashboard unit

Did some programming and tech support for the group that does backups for the engineering computer network at the University of Michigan. Created and maintained Perl scripts that were used for creating backups

Worked on various robotics related software while working in the lab. Created a computer vision software that could recognize objects in a video feed, and worked on a video game-like interface for controlling multiple robots simultaneously. All development was done in Java.
