Hani Abdo is a focused and energetic senior investment and operations professional with over 23 years of experience with blue chip organizations, private equity and family groups. Hani’s passion for investment and operations keeps him deeply involved in all aspects of the investment cycle providing strategic direction and driving value creation initiatives for all stakeholders.In his capacity as group CEO at Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani & Sons Holding Company (“NBK”), Hani has strategic, investment and operating roles at the group level and serves as a Board member on NBK, its subsidiaries and joint ventures. Hani developed NBK’s strategic road map, restructured the group’s debt, and executed value accretive initiatives that institutionalized the group and put it on the path to a market event. Operationally, Hani is responsible for the day to day growth and profitability of 15 operating entities and joint venture partnerships in various fields of trading, manufacturing, construction, facility management, technology and healthcare.In his capacity as a Board Member & COO of Amwal LLC (“Amwal”), a regulated independent asset management firm, Hani restructured the entire firm by upgrading its senior management team, worked closely with the regulator, diversified its business activities to include asset management / equities and fixed income, private equity and advisory services. Hani started the private equity practice at Amwal and originated, raised, and deployed c. US$ 150m in a regional upstream oil and gas company, two global US and Chinese based technology companies, and Life Settlements. Hani has successfully exited all transactions that generated 20%+ IRR to the investors. Hani is currently closing the last round of fund raising for exciting investments in the upstream food ingredients, US credit, and real estate spaces.
