Led the development of the company’s new ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system (EMS). Over the course of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creation, revision and presentation, I succeeded in securing management buy-in and then oversaw company-wide EMS rollout. Concurrently, I launched new initiatives that took the organization's environmental performance to new heights: environmental planning resources initiative, environmental training program and environmental performance evaluation program. The environmental planning resources initiative introduced planning templates to support projects with environmental protection plan submittals required by contracts. This resource library encompassed templates for various environmental disciplines each of which included boilerplate addressing legislative, permitting, and contractual considerations; thereby streamlining plan development and securing client approval. The environmental training program engaged staff in thought-provoking discussions focusing on a variety of environmental disciplines (water taking operations, excess soil management, erosion & sediment control, etc.) that are relevant to the company's key operations. Through training, staff were able to demonstrate an expanded knowledge on key aspects (compliance obligations, planning, and monitoring) for each discipline, and educate construction personnel in an effective manner.Performance evaluation assessed project operations against each project's specific legislative, contractual, and permit compliance obligations, and identified opportunities to elevate environmental performance.

Lead support for various project teams to assist with elevating the quality of bid-build project claims, expediting claims submissions, and analyzing the validity of subcontractor claims. Concurrently, played an instrumental role in rolling out company-wide initiatives that are aimed to improve current processes, expedite claim negotiations, and increase organization's revenue. Such initiatives include, but are not limited to, standard claims submission templates, standardized document management system, enhanced financial system software, and advanced knowledge-base on financial system reports.

64 unit residential building project completed on time and within budget thanks to high organization, excellent team facilitation, and attention to detail. I played an instrumental role during completion of internal works in the units, common areas and amenities. I gained experience working with various trades whereby I monitored work for compliance, promoted a safe work environment, and answered inquiries pertaining to drawings and specifications. I also supported my supervisor with with task delegation, updating schedules, verifying invoices, and budget tracking.Other duties include: record keeping, maintaining and updating project documents, preparing internal and external project status reports, processing time cards, attending meetings and taking meeting minutes.

Led a team of coordinators organizing STEM outreach events for K-12 students within local, rural and indigenous communities. On average, over 100 events have taken place across Nova Scotia impacting thousands of students each year. Analyzed, recorded, and reported test results for delivered aggregates and concrete samples for construction material standards compliance. Tests conducted include sieve analysis, proctor, and triaxial compression tests. WHMIS certified and so all analyses were completed while adhering to health and safety requirements.

During this tenure, I worked in 3 different highway projects in the province. This was a successful term and I had the privilege to work with a professional team of engineers and contractors. In this role, I was responsible for inspecting construction, quality assurance, quality control, payment tracking, and reporting.

Supervised recreational volleyball games for the intramural league by ensuring that league rules were followed, tracking match scores, taking attendance for each team, preparing the volleyball court and inspecting for safety hazards, and performing emergency first aid followed by completing incident reports when necessary.

I assisted in field duties including implementing plans to achieve environmental performance goals, monitoring programs, environmental investigations, audits, and site surveys. I also participated in office duties including attending meetings to report on environmental performance and compliance, reviewing sample analyses results, preparing technical reports, and updating environmental data and records.
