Medical Laboratory Technician
CurrentCurrent Duties and responsibilities : Biochemistry Diabetes profile, lipid profile, kidney function tests, liver function test, cardiac enzymes, anemia profile, minerals, blood gas, and endocrine gland hormones. Haematology : Routine works in haematology complete blood count, Bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombine time, Partial thrombuplastin time fibrinogen level, fibrinogen degradation products, sedimentation rate, malaria parasite, all body fluids count and differential count & sickling test . Microbiology (parasitology): Routine examination of urine, stool, occult blood in stool, urine culture, pregnancy test, bens jones protein, H.pylori antigens in stool and semen analysis. Blood banking: Blood grouping, coombs test, cross matching. Receiving people who want to donate blood and doing the necessary test for them before taking blood unit from them. Encouraging people to donate blood. Blood extracting: Collection of blood samples from patients, receiving blood, urine, stool, sputum, body fluids and swabs from out patients and in patients releasing reports to the out patients. On duty in the afternoon and at night in charging of the whole laboratory , doing all emergency tests for Haematology, Chemistry, Parasitology, body fluids and cross matching.
