As the conference’s Under Secretary General for Socials, I had the following responsibilities –- Contacting venues to organise the social events for the weekend and ensuring that the conference and the socials run smoothly throughout.- Organising and budgeting for the social aspects of the conference.- Writing and presenting at several events in order to obtain extra funding for the conference. I’ve also presented to companies, most recently EY, in a bid to gain some sponsorship for the society.

During my time working for Debate Mate I ran a weekly afterschool debating club at Levenshulme High School for Girls. The aim of this was to help develop the students’ communication and interpersonal skills, through regular topical debates.
