In this role, I develop, recover, or maintain the important occupations of individuals with physical, mental, or developmental conditions. I work closely with nonprofit agencies to support clients’ independence and engagement within their communities.Responsibilities:- Assess clients’ occupational, physical, communication, and cognitive skills to develop individualized treatment plans.- Implement therapeutic activities to enhance clients’ daily living skills and occupational performance.- Educate clients and their families on coping strategies and the use of adaptive equipment.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care.- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.- Document client evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.- Provide training to non-clinical staff to meet client needs effectively.- Advocate for clients’ health and well-being within the community.About QTS:Qualified Therapy Solutions (QTS) is dedicated to enhancing health equity in the St. Louis region by providing innovative access to skilled clinical services, including occupational therapy. For 14 weeks, I will be assisting St. Patrick Center in St. Louis with finding funding sources for occupational therapy services and creating resources for fellow OTPs on how to fund community-based mental health occupational therapy at nonprofits.

At Sheppard Pratt, I led weekly groups addressing life skills, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. I assessed and created treatment plans for three patients, contributing to holistic care through interdisciplinary collaboration.

At Francis Howell Early Childhood, I helped students acquire essential skills for effective participation in academic activities, focusing on fine motor skills and sensory processing.

Works in a group of 5 to plan and implement Adult Transition group classes for foster youth in the Chaffee Program. Groups included communication with adults, communication with peers, goal setting, stress management, and self-advocacy. Found ways to incorporate occupational therapy into a nonprofit organization that does not currently have a full-time occupational therapist on staff.

In the Community Independence Occupational Therapy Clinic (CIOTC) at St. Patrick's Center, I work under two occupational therapists with fellow students to create, administer, facilitate, and document life skills group classes for the homeless community suffering from severe mental illnesses. These classes include stress management, finances, cooking, health management, relationships, and much more. We are required to think on our feet and adapt to the needs of our clients on a regular base as well as implement Occupational therapy mental health theories and evidence into our work.

The MESH Director is responsible for the oversight of the emotional well-being of campers and staff. This position will work to eliminate or replace ineffective or negative behaviors with appropriate and positive actions. Additionally, they will assist staff with issues that arise in their personal and work life. This is a leadership position that is part of the Leadership team that supervises staff and acts as a resource in problem-solving and programming with campers and staff.

Volunteering with Urban Harvest STL for my occupational therapy Fieldwork IA experience where the focus was creating an advocacy project for Urban Harvest STL through the lens of environmental justice. Volunteered at Urban Harvest STL to help them move rooftop garden locations and plant strawberry starters. Volunteer relationship continued past fieldwork experience into working through the beginnings steps of creating a partnership between Urban Harvest STL and Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine Sustainability committee.

Trained and oversaw the Counselor in Training (CIT) program at the summer camp. CITs were ages 15-17 and I would be in charge of them for 1-3 weeks at a time. On the Director team with various duties including transportation of groups, medication disbursement, and following ACA Guidelines. Had 5 supervises that I held weekly meetings with and completed biweekly performance reviews.

Attends the lecture period for Anatomy and Physiology II to keep track of what the students are learning. Hosts two group Supplemental Instruction sessions a week to help students comprehend what they learned in the lecture. Provides tutoring sessions to students in various Anatomy and Physiology, Health, and Psychology courses.

Worked one on one with our clients who had mental, physical, or cognitive disabilities. Worked with other Job Coaches and Case Workers to help each client perform their job to their best ability and to help the client become independent at their workplace. Completed and compiled daily case notes for each client I worked with.
