Attended nursing school on a full scholarship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Rose from the rank of Private First Class to Lieutenant Colonel in 18 years. During this time period, was awared another full scholarship to Baylor University and obtained an MHA in Hospital Administration. Following a 20 year career in the US Army, joined Columbia/HCA as a Senior Vice President, El Paso market for 2 years. Thereafter, served as CEO, Las Palmas Medical Center (HCA) from June 1995 - June 2015 (20 years).On 1 June 2015, I had a wonderful opportunity to join The Hospitals of Providence (Tenet, El Paso). I'm now serving as the CEO, Transmountain Campus and COO, Market. In this role, I am working alongside a talented and robust group of healthcare professionals as we literately build from the ground up, a private teaching medical center. This is a Tenet/Texas Tech Medical School joint venture. Stay tuned friends...we're going to have fun and do great things in El Paso.
