Worked closely with photo and art departments to ensure quality design. • For more than 30 issues functioned as SI’s managing editor, leading the edit meetings, choosing the lineup of stories, coordinating the mockup, picking all photos, approving layouts and overseeing the cover design, while also performing my weekly AME duties.

Took charge of the magazine’s NBA and soccer beats, conceiving stories each week, working them through with writers and photographers, and then editing the copy. Planned 100-page preview issues for the NBA and handled World Cup coverage on site. • Leader on a variety of projects, including special and thematic issues, intra-office mentoring, teleconferencing with writers and revision of the stylebook. • Closed the longstanding gap between writers and editors by ensuring that writers were able to see their stories before they were published.
