CurrentServed as the final editor for half of the stories that ran in each weekly issue, with responsibility for the readability, accuracy and fairness of pieces ranging from short, front-of-book items to 10,000-word take-outs to months-long investigations. Wrote cover billings and most of the magazine display copy. • Was one of two SI edit staffers on a six-person task force that guided the integration of the magazine with the website, SI.com. • Managed 15 senior editors and was office point person for the far-flung staff of 30 writers, handling their T&E budgets. Worked closely with photo and art departments to ensure quality design. • For more than 30 issues functioned as SI’s managing editor, leading the edit meetings, choosing the lineup of stories, coordinating the mockup, picking all photos, approving layouts and overseeing the cover design, while also performing my weekly AME duties.
