I'm taking a break from my role in IT leadership, as my wife and I prepare to relocate to Charlotte NC so that we can be more involved in the lives of our children and grandchildren. My VP of IT role at Wycliffe was eliminated and I was laid off, so this has provided a timely opportunity to achieve the following goals: • Relocate from Orlando FL and get settled in Charlotte NC • Establish healthy habits, improve personal margin, and strengthen family wellbeing • Invest further professional development to earn IT industry certifications • Identify my next role in IT leadership with a great company where I can use my technical and people skills to make a positive impact to help improve people's quality of life!After this brief break, I'm excited to jump back into the workforce with renewed energy and commitment.

Directed strategic vision and provided leadership for Wycliffe USA's technology solutions, including oversight of all Enterprise Applications (Workday HCM, Workday Financials, Salesforce CRM, Google Workspace / GWS) and over 100 other software applications. Led teams developing enterprise architecture, supporting infrastructure, and providing IT customer service.Advised Wycliffe's C-Suite executives and Vice Presidents to identify opportunities to support strategy through technology transformation to meet business objectives. Led an Enterprise Applications team of 35 staff supporting Wycliffe USA's corporate business technologies. Modeled strong commitment to excellence, dedication to high quality customer service, ongoing team and systems performance monitoring, and robust collaboration with business stakeholders.Directed teams providing enterprise architecture, system configuration and management for ERP systems Workday HCM & Salesforce, the company website, enterprise databases, and software development for seamless integration and automated ETL data flows, resulting in improved data integrity and timeliness.Pioneered a Business Intelligence program for business analysis, data analytics and reporting for departments to analyze metrics and track KPIs informing the health of business operations, financial performance and other business objectives.Built a project management team / PMO, to improve efficiency and strengthen project delivery. Developed standard operating procedures for project execution, capturing business requirements, leveraging business process modeling, and executing projects within scope, resulting in shift from reactive firefighting to well organized projects. Standardized project management tools across all departments to better monitor project progress and clarify prioritization.Identified gaps in operational processes for software development and provided employee training to implement best practices in capability maturity model (CMM), when combined with above PM improvements, moved the teams from CMM level 1 to level 5, resulting in significantly improved responsiveness and productivity.Handled annual IT budgeting for all enterprise systems and vendor management for outsourced IT services. Directed team management, support, and implementation for all new software and hardware technology at Wycliffe US HQ and six regional offices across the United States.Led data center operations, including management and security of the Windows network and infrastructure at Orlando headquarters, the corporate WAN, and regional offices.Managed a team of IT specialists providing enterprise architecture and supporting corporate email, network, firewalls, file servers, Microsoft Active Directory, and database administration functions.Oversaw the implementation of RedHat Linux servers for Oracle application and database servers with SSL acceleration for the enterprise HR system supporting Wycliffe's 7,000 global staff.

Managed the data center and Windows-based servers at corporate headquarters.Guided the PC Support team in configuring Windows workstations for network connectivity.Provided secondary support to the Lotus Notes administrator for the enterprise email and document management system.Handled all technology risk management, information security, data backup, and business continuity for Wycliffe's operations, including all global staff and donor data. Planned and executed migration from a Frame-relay WAN to an IPSec VPN-based WAN for multiple US sites.Designed the technology architecture and managed the installation of the data center and campus network at Wycliffe's new $40M corporate headquarters, leading the move of enterprise systems to the new campus with less than 24 hours of downtime.

Championed IT leadership for a Project Management team, a Field Technical Support team, an Enterprise Architecture team, and a Web Application Development team, steering the team towards adopting Agile product management, DevOps utilizing CI/CD automation tools, user centered application design and user experience modeling.Oversaw development of a SAML based Identity Provider (IdP) solution similar to Okta, for Identity and Access Management (IAM) for corporate systems access across multiple federated organizational partnerships, serving 10,000 staff globally in total.Provided strategic IT leadership and direction, overseeing implementation of new technology, building strong relationships through collaboration with key customers. Supervised staff and managers reporting to me, upskilling in areas of goal setting, accountability, timeliness, team leadership and performance management, to strengthen their leadership skills.Spearheaded a global project to migrate over 10,000 users, including staff at organizations with strategic partnerships, to Google Apps (now Google Workspace), involving 120 IT support staff across nearly 100 countries.Provided strategic influence and visionary leadership to facilitate a ten-year technical training program, contributing to the development and sustainability of 35 IT staff across Africa, including multiple international trips to deliver training and make formal presentations.

Managed team of a dozen IT specialists supporting enterprise computer systems, multi-organizational WAN, firewalls, storage systems, highly redundant and virtualized systems for 24/7 corporate data center operations.Developed acceptable use policies for network usage, computer hardware standards, wireless guest network access, and SLAs with major departments.Built and managed the IT departmental budget and supervised the purchase of all computer equipment for the organization. Oversaw IT vendor management and ensured responsive vendor performance.Led a team of engineers to design and deploy solar power and Internet connectivity solutions for off-grid international field offices. Consulted on network design for numerous international sites and facilitated procurement and delivery of systems with many personal visits  to Africa, Asia, and S. America to lead installations and deliver operational training.

Planned and executed statewide upgrades and server consolidations from Novell NetWare 3.11 to 4.11 LAN, supporting over 4000 users as part of Y2K preparations.Developed procedural documentation for server builds and upgrades, automated workstation hardware inventory, Windows and OS/2 client upgrades, network printer migrations, and data migration from old to new servers, ensuring a seamless transition for end users.Provided senior-level second-tier on-call support for distributed LAN administrators across 60 sites. Earned and maintained Novell NetWare CNE certification covering NetWare 3, 4, and 5.

Provided primary administration of all Novell NetWare 3.11 File Servers supporting 2100 users in a multi-campus WAN environment at the company’s headquarters.Installed and supported server-based applications for 70 departments, and designed Windows workstation integration for server-based software.Led teams handling network support and PC support for thousands of users at corporate HQ.Conducted research and implemented a wide range of emerging LAN technologies.
