Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and analysis.

Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Author/co-author of FAA certification documents for level flight, stall characteristics and stability & control for Terrafugia Transition flying car.

Aerodynamics, CFD and flight dynamics for eVTOL concepts. I performed preliminary and conceptual analysis for Terrafugia TF-2 tilt rotor and lift plus cruise eVTOL projects.

I designed and performed the aerodynamic analysis for the Leviathan UAS airframe. I used Stallion 3D, MultiElement Airfoils and MultiSurface Aerodynamics to simulate the aerodynamic performance and de-risk the eventual production of the UAV. The Leviathan flew extremely well and efficiently as an all electric UAV.

After graduating from MIT, I joined the Mechanical Engineering faculty at the University of Connecticut where I developed and taught courses in aerodynamics, compressible fluids, introductory fluid mechanics and heat transfer. My research was funded by the National Science Foundation Research Initiation Award, the NASA-ASEE Summer Faculty Fellowship and three consecutive research awards from NASA Lewis Research center to study compressible viscous flows in turbomachinery using pseudospectral methods. This research led to the successful education of four (4) Ph.D students and four (4) Masters degree students.
