After graduating with my music education degree from Texas State University, I spent 6 years as a public school educator. However, I felt like I had additional skill sets that weren’t being utilized. When my husband and I relocated cross-country in the summer of 2020 for him to pursue his doctorate, I began seeking new career opportunities. I decided to use that year as a nanny (to 3 boys under the age of 6) to build a network and learn about roles outside of the school system and childcare. That’s when I decided to pursue project management.I was then hired as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the Conservatory at the University of Cincinnati while the current assistant was on maternity leave. And, while I had administrative duties, I also coordinated a handful of interdepartmental projects. After just 3 months, the Dean asked me to stay on and serve as a project manager. In that role, I scoped, developed, and delivered two major projects, each with six-figure budgets. Shortly after my contract ended I landed a job with the world-renowned Cincinnati Symphony working as the Donor Engagement Coordinator. During my short stint with the Symphony, I learned a complex CRM system, developed new ways of interacting with our donors to further our campaign goals, and assisted in the day-to-day activities of non-profit philanthropy.In the summer of that year, my husband was offered his first college job and we headed cross-country again! So, I began the job search and did some consulting as a Project Coordinator with the non-profit Women In Product. In my time there, I led the development of the volunteer and scholarship recipients processes, exceeding recruitment goals by 100% and 17% respectively, researched and developed the organization’s Salesforce Standard Operating Procedures manual, and researched and presented the cost-benefit of the Career Center and Job Board to the C-Suite, making implementation recommendation the increase growth by 35% over the next year. I am also a PMI Certified Associate in Project Management.After pivoting and being on the move for three years, I am looking for a place to call home for this next chapter of my career. I would like to work for a company that does impactful work and invests in the professional growth of it's employees.
