The research is part of a greater study spearheaded by The Nature Conservancy and numerous other organizations titled 'Building the Resilience of Communities and their Ecosystems to the Impacts of Climate Change' which is focusing on small island developing states in the Pacific region. The research will allow policy makers, researchers and most importantly communities to plan adaptation options that maximize welfare while minimizing risks and costs. The Master Environment and Resource Management (ERM) is designed to train the next generation of environmental decision-makers to work on the sustainability challenges of our time. Students learn to work towards finding solutions for societal problems related to natural resource depletion and environmental change.
