Junior Researcher for the Environmental Economics department at IVM - Institute for Environmental Studies. In this role I work with other researchers at IVM, external partners and students at Vrije University to conduct research and assist in projects ranging from teaching assistance and coordination to presentating results to stakeholders. Highlights include: - Conducting economic analyses such as cost-benefit analysis and ecosystem service dependence in Pacific Island communities, including Mejit Island, Wotho Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Melekeok, Palau. Research involved field work, household surveys, key informant interviews as well as data analysis and presentation of findings to communities and stakeholders. - Assisted in finalizing data analysis and reports for the EU Horizon 2020 project FATIMA: Farming tools for external nutrient inputs and water management. - Published a report on sustainable finance mechanisms for nature conservation in the Caribbean in collaboration with JNCC. - Worked on various projects in partner with WWF, including an assessment of the effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) globally. I conducted my thesis research on climate change adaptation options in Palau, using household surveys and discrete choice experiment (DCE) methodology to value ecosystem services in a small community. The research is part of a greater study spearheaded by The Nature Conservancy and numerous other organizations titled 'Building the Resilience of Communities and their Ecosystems to the Impacts of Climate Change' which is focusing on small island developing states in the Pacific region. The research will allow policy makers, researchers and most importantly communities to plan adaptation options that maximize welfare while minimizing risks and costs. The Master Environment and Resource Management (ERM) is designed to train the next generation of environmental decision-makers to work on the sustainability challenges of our time. Students learn to work towards finding solutions for societal problems related to natural resource depletion and environmental change.

-Designed and implemented support strategies to efficiently handle a large volume of customer support communication ranging from phone calls to emails and chats. -While spearheading the Support department, I maximized efficiency by using our ticketing software (Desk) to create automatic ticket procedures and response forms. -Re-vamped and re-wrote the entire Support Center for Night Out to serve as a comprehensive and detailed FAQ and resource guide for customers and event organizers. -Assisted event organizers in software implementation and online event management.-Worked in a fast paced, start up environment assisting other departments and wearing many hats (administration, project management, event management, design, data entry, payouts etc.)

-Provided year-round teaching assistant support to Professors John and Janice Baldwin Ph.D. in their upper division Sociology 152A course.-Held office hours, organized and hosted 2 hour review sessions 8 times a quarter and offered general support to the 500-600 students enrolled in the course.-Worked as a Head Grader to manage a team of 12 student graders, including hiring, training and supervising them to ensure fair, consistent grading and maintain integrity. -Originally hired as a student grader in 2011 and promoted in May 2013 to both the Head Grader and Course Assistant positions.
