Core memories are insightful. One of my first was standing in the doorway of my Uncle Philip’s room. As an artist, he often had half-finished oil paintings perched on random shelves & tables. My 7 year old eyes were fixed on a painting of a woman whose face was haunting. As I drew closer to the canvas, I realized what intrigued me were the brush strokes. Scattered beautifully across this fabric were seconds, minutes, hours, days of time- & PASSION! I was overwhelmed by the magnificence, & touched by feelings of dedication, perseverance, & love. That day unlocked in me an obsession with art, design, & all things visually impactful. It’s been 25 years since that day, & I’m proud to say that I’m still going strong! After college became too expensive for me to continue, I decided to jump full-time into building a resume that I was proud of- I haven’t slept much since!Youth brought retail management/restaurant experience, & employee awards for sales growth + customer service. After showing management my portfolio, they allowed me creative freedom to build their social platforms, design their swag, & implement customer retention strategies that resulted in rapid increases to business. They also made sure I was allotted time to build relationships within our community on their behalf, which was where my love for marketing was born.Youth also brought love. Marriage & children followed QUICKLY after, as well as a new career path in an administrative role. Let’s face it fellow millennial parents, working nights is stressful when you have kiddos. At all my previous jobs, I’ve quickly moved up the rank. I’m a problem solver- the type of person that just makes it happen. Computer not functioning properly? Need a snatchy caption? Toilet need unclogging? Is Karen upset that her appointment was rescheduled due to inclement weather? Everyone I’ve worked with knows- come to me. I’m also one who cares GREATLY about the details, DOWN TO THE LAST PIXEL, & that makes me a perfectionist. My therapist is working with me y’all! When I’m not working to better myself & my employer’s/client’s productivity, I’m just a small-town girl from Tuscaloosa, Alabama (usually barefoot with Stevie Nicks blaring in the background). I’m a free spirit & friend to all! I find one of my greatest strengths to be my relatability when communicating with others. I still create meaningful art nearly every day- mental healthy! My portfolio contains years of sweat & tears, but also belly laughs and birthday cake- BALANCE.Let’s connect! I would love to team up for another success!
