• Investigate the effect of stabilizers on zero valent iron nanoparticle toxicity and reactivity for groundwater remediation applications. • Use the embryonic zebrafish assay to investigate nanoparticle toxicity, and incubate trichloroethylene with the nanoparticles to measure the ability of stabilized particles to degrade groundwater contaminants.• Use transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and gas chromatography to characterize nanoparticles.• Resulted in three research posters, a 15 minute presentation, a publication in a University undergraduate research journal, and an honors thesis project.

I gained experience wiring and programming controllers using ladder logic and structured text in Concept programming software, using engineering management of change procedures including risk assessments and process change notifications, working with vendors to specify and purchase parts, performing bid walks and hiring contractors, and using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD to model processes and create piping and instrumentation diagrams.
